This Album was written mostly on tour, and is divided into two categories (remember this was still the LP era): the "Thinking Side" and the "Drinking Side." Coe wrote everything on the set, and it's a stunner. Side one contains some of Coe's bitterest, most accusatory breakup songs, including "Looking in the Mirror," "Lyin' Comes So Easy to Your Lips," and the deeply moving "The Last Time She'll Leave Me This Time." The flip has the punchy, Jimmy Buffett-influenced "She Loved the Leavin' Out of Me" and "Whiskey, Whiskey (Take My Mind)" -- which is actually dedicated to Buffett. But despite being classified as the "Drinking Side," there are wonderful love songs, too, including "I Gave Up (On Trying to Get Over You)."

Lyrics:

Looking in the Mirror
Looking in the mirror
Must be harder than you thought
Truth is not a pretty sight to see
Cheatin' ain't worth cheatin' honey
When you're gettin' caught
Lovin' him while losin' you and me

Maybe I was foolish
Sometimes dreamers often are
I believed that you believed in me
Stamding in love's quciksand honey
Reaching for a star
Looking for your love to set me free

I've seen all the dreams
I ever thought was coming true
Shattered like a mirror in your hall
Leaving your reflection like a four letter word
Fading quickly from some bathroom wall

Trying to understand love
Is the hardest part of all
Does it really matter whose to blame
Once I called you honey
Now I never call at all
Knowing you could only call me names

Seeing it was over
Did not mean that you could go
Leaving me the pleasure of the pain
Trusting someone else will be
A harder row to hoe
Lovin' won't be easier again

Lyin' Comes So Easy to Your Lips
Looking in the mirror
Must be harder than you thought
Truth is not a pretty sight to see
Cheatin' ain't worth cheatin' honey
When you're gettin' caught
Lovin' him while losin' you and me

Maybe I was foolish
Sometimes dreamers often are
I believed that you believed in me
Standing in love's quicksand honey
Reaching for a star
Looking for your love to set me free

(Bridge)

I've seen all the dreams
I ever thought was coming true
Shattered like the mirror in your hall
Leaving your reflection like a four letter word
Fading quickly on some bathroom wall

Trying to understand love
Is the hardest part of all
Does it really matter whose to blame
Once I called your honey
Now I never call at all
Knowing you would only call me names

Seeing it was over
Did not mean that you could go
Leaving me the pleasure of the pain
Trusting someone else will be
A harder row to hoe
Lowin' won't be easier again

(Repeat Bridge)

Whiskey, Whiskey (Take My Mind)
(Chorus)

Whiskey, whiskey take my mind
Let me leave it all behind
Take me somewhere I can find
Someone to believe

Whiskey, whiskey be my friend
Don't you let me fall again
You can help me to pretend
She won't ever leave

Whiskey, whiskey tell me lies
You know she can hypnotize
If I look into her eyes
I'll be lost again

(Repeat chorus)

Whiskey, whiskey keep your cool
Don'y you let me be no fool
I'll be sitting on this stool
'Til the very end

(Repeat chours)
